What is the cause, infection why the annoying pop sounds?

2 weeks ago i had a really strong ache my right face and it made chewing unbearable so i self medicated with ibuprofen and amoxicillin...the ache subsided but then anytime i chew i get this uncomfortable pop sound from my ear...funny thing is i couldnt pinpoint where the ache was on my face and i cannot pinpoint where this pop sound comes from...i just hear the pop sound which is rather uncomfortable and makes chewing quite dreadful. Please can anyone tell me what the possible infection is or cause anything at all...thanks
