Dear Eden,

Thanks for posting the photo, which shows 4-5 small lumps on the shaft of the penis. These would be consistent with genital warts. Do you know how long you've had them?

Home-based treatment is available, but you'd have to get a prescription. Please try to get to your sexual health/GU clinic for this, as well as an STI screen. You should alert your partner to do likewise. There isn't a great urgency to get treatment- many of the treatments are largely cosmetic (i.e. they burn or destroy the lumps) but they don't cure the HPV infection causing it. The infection will be cleared by your immune response, so stay healthy and stop smoking.

If you happen to live in London, you can register for an STI home testing kit delivered to you: shl.uk

Rgds,

Adhari.

Genital warts are not a serious sexual health issue and can be easily treated. sexwise.fpa.org.uk/stis/gen...

You think it has to do with illnesses like HIV ? and my girlfriend also got infected

Having genital warts does not equate to having HIV. It is a totally separate sexual health issue . Usually a sexual health screen would be advised however for you and your partner. If you are living in the UK with the lockdown you may be able to order a sexual health screen online where you live. Check the internet.

It is also possible your local sexual health service may be providing prescriptions for treatment at home during the COVID situation ( if in the UK ) You could contact them by phone.

Looks like Adhari has got it right. get your Urologist to check it out. It can be passed on or indeed acquired during sexual intercourse.
