bleeding between periods

Hi guys . I just woke up this morning to some light bleeding , confused as my period just finished on the 14th of July . I had unprotected sex 5 days ago now this

I understand you had unprotected sex, but are you on any hormonal contraception? If not, it could just be ovulation bleeding. Assuming your period is typically 28 days and the first day of bleeding was 7th July, then ovulation could have occurred around the 21st July approximately 14 days later.

Other causes of spotting/intermenstrual bleeding include cervicitis from STI so it would be sensible to get tested for these (Google NHS std test).

My first day of bleeding was the 10th of July and stopped on the 14th of July . So when would I ovulate ?

Dear Suvs,

A calculator from NHS Wales is available here:

You will see that it outputs a range of dates because ovulation is not something that happens like clockwork. Input the first day of your period (10 July) plus your usual period length and it should give you an idea of when ovulation may have taken place.
