Chylamidia and PID

Hi I recently got tested for chylamidia which was positive, I have taken my doxycycline twice a day for 7 days. The symptoms had gone away and everything was fine for about 4 months then all of a sudden I’m experiencing lower abdominal pain and pain during intercourse with a condom. I am worried that this may be PID as I didn’t realise the symptoms of Chylamidia when I had it and It must’ve been there for about 6 months. Would chylamidia repeat itself if I have had sex with a condom with only one new partner or will this be PID due to leaving it untreated for so long? Is it possible to have PID after treating an STI

Hi,

Three questions:

1. What were your symptoms when you were diagnosed with chlamydia?

2. Did you go back to the clinic to be re-tested after completing your treatment?

3. Is the sex painful on penetration (superficial) or when he's deep inside?

Painful sex (dyspareunia) can be caused by PID, but there may be other reasons including some that might be non-gynaecological, including constipation. I think if you're worried you should try to attend your local sexual health clinic (if open) or your GP for an internal examination and repeat STD tests.
