so, I regularly check for my IUD strings. I have had the IUD for almost a year now, until now I have always felt those IUD strings down there. Has this happened to anyone before?

I cannot feel my IUD strings
Hi. I've had this happen twice and both times my IUD has fallen out. It's rare it happens after the first 6 weeks but it does happen. My 1st I'd had in for 3years and my 2nd 14 months.
You need to contact your doctor or local sexual health clinic. They will arrange an appointment to check to see if they can see your strings. If they can't you will then have to have a scan so they can see if it's still inside you or not and take it from there.
In the mean time you may not be covered so you will need to use condoms to avoid pregnancy.
Yes it's happened to me, I've only had the copper coil for just over a month now and cannot find the strings. I've been advised to wear condoms until this covid 19 has gone down and GP's are open so they can locate the strings.
It is possible your IUD strings have basically gone and coiled up around your cervix and you basically can't reach them - this has happened to me before because they cut my strings so short.
Chances are, if you haven't had cramps, it's probably still there, but you should use condoms just in case it's not there.
