I had the copper coil inserted on 9th march and can't feel the strings. I've also had continual bleeding/spotting and I'm due a period though it hasn't come. The doctor told me to feel for strings bit I can't feel them, do you think I should go back and am I at risk of getting pregnant?

At present it may be difficult to see a nurse or Dr. Please use condoms consistently until you can have an assessment. Its is vey unlikely to have been expelled , the threads are probably in the mucus, but someone needs to see your cervix to be sure.

Hey, as recommended still take precaution! However I had the same experience, was terrified when I couldn’t feel mine and panicked it had gone somewhere or something was wrong haha, it can be quite tricky I found to check and I found that I could only feel them by sitting down on the toilet and propping my leg onto the bath was the only way I could find them. TMI I know but it gave me reassurance! X
