Eating too much

My girlfriend left me few days ago and since the I can't stop eating alot, I always get hungry and always eat something, do you think I need help?

Isn't this simply comfort eating because you have had a difficult event ?

It does sound like comfort eating... some people go the other way and find that stressful events cause them to lose their appetite. Don't forget, this time of year when the weather is awful and it's cold, a lot of people want those warm comforting foods, whereas in the summer we tend to eat a lighter diet.

You don't say how you feel about the break up or how you are spending your time.. There's now a void in your life so you've got to get back into a different routine. ... hopefully one that doesn't revolve around food. ... because that becomes a habit and it's not particularly good for you.

If you can occupy your time by doing something else, not sitting around moping, then do it.

What about your hobbies, things you liked to do, places you liked to go.... before the girlfriend.

May be a sport, or just going out for a brisk walk, going to your local swimming pool.

If you feel you're not ready to do that, try distraction techniques.. when you get the munchies...have a drink of water, cup of tea or coffee.... not alcohol or fizzy drinks loaded with sugar or sweeteners.
