the pill

i want to go on a contraceptive pill to help with my cramps, period and nausea but i get migraines and had aura with my migraine once. i told my mum and doctor that i have aura so they won't let me take the combined contraceptive pill but they don't realize I've only had aura with my migraine once 3/4 years ago. i have spots and the progesterone-only pill and implants cause side effects of increased acne, nausea and headaches which I'm trying to combat. The only form of contraception which helps with cramps, periods and nausea/sickness is the combined contraceptive pill. What should i do/take?

See the UK MEC here : ukmec.pagelizard.com/2016#s... . If its 3-4 years ago I'm afraid it is still category 4 ie cant be prescribed. How about a Mirena or Kyleena IUS ?

10/10 would recommend Mirena. The dose is higher so is more effective at combatting the headaches/acne.

Migraines are one of these illnesses that doctors essentially say you suffer from FOR LIFE; you could get another migraine with aura at any time. I speak from experience about that because I had a visual aura migraine and then didn't have another for about three years and then got loads in a short space of time.

It's honestly not worth the risk. Personally, I would take acne over a significant stroke risk any day of the week.
