Is anyone else taking Merina and mini pill at same time?
Ok so you can get unscheduled bleeding with the IUS. You can also get unscheduled bleeding with the POP. We would normally try to control the bleeding using the chc ( combined pill ) unless you cannot take it for medical reasons ( related to oestrogens ) If you take the CHC for this reason, its probably best to take it back to back for 9 weeks ( ie no pill free weeks ). The bleeding should settle over time - 65% of women are amenstrual by 9 months with the IUS. If you can take the CHC , I would approach the GP again.
I have been having migraines and the gp said the chc is maybe not the best one for me for that reason.
Ok migraine is a specific diagnosis compared to headaches. If your headache is truly a migraine , then its important where it has what they call focal symptoms. These are changes in vision, taste, smell, sensation, or any weakness or tingling in parts of your body. If you don't , and its "simple" migraine, then using the pill for a period of time is possible - its a UK MEC category 2 ukmec.pagelizard.com/2016#s... If you do have focal migraine , then its a bit of a problem. Sometimes taking the antibiotic doxycycline can help - and sometimes medicines like tranexamic acid. It should settle , but it might take a while.
