Bleeding with my IUD

I had the IUD fitted 3 weeks ago I’ve just finished a period which was very heavy and lasted longer than usual and now I’ve started bleeding heavy after sex is this normal?

If you have only recently had the IUD fitted then this might just simply be a side effect of it. Contraceptives take time to settle into the body. It's perfectly normal for your body to start doing weird things for a little while whilst things settle.

HOWEVER if this bleeding is BLOOD as opposed to what looks like a PERIOD it is well worth having it checked.

this could all be due to the IUD. I presume you have done chlamydia testing at some point and no new partners since then ?
