My partner knows I have herpes. I think he might be having symptoms of it but no actual blisters. I’m really worried he’s going to end things with me if he does have it.

Where did you get the herpes? Were you in bed with someone else?

No, I got it from an ex partner which he knows about.

Theres a chance that he may have it if you had intercourse with him after you got it from your ex. It is advisable to have him screened just to be sure, so treatment can start sooner. It is also good that you be treated as well. I dont think he will leave you though since this happened before you were a couple. The problem is if you got it while you guys are already dating.

Very few people ever actually see blisters - they only notice when they have ulcers ( painful breaks ) You have already made the most difficult step which is telling a partner. How long have you been in this relationship ? Why would your partner end things when you had been upfront and disclosed to him - he obviously cares about you enough that he didn't think it was an issue.

You just need to support your partner through any outbreaks. With any luck, they won't be too bad.

You have done the right thing by being honest with him from the start so I would be very surprised if he dumps you. Just imagine the alternative. if you had not told him and pretended you didn't have it. The conversation now would be so much worse.
