Microgynon Pill

Hi I’ve been on the pill for almost 5 years, I’ve recently started feeling cramp in my lower leg that hasn’t really gone away for a few weeks. I’ve not had any issues before this. My Nan suffers from VTE and my mum suffers from hypertension. When I was younger I had migraines but haven’t for years now. Should I stop taking the pill?

Hi, regarding the pain in the legs. I had the exact same thing happen to me about a year ago when I was on microgynon. Doctor told me to stop taking it right away. Pain soon went afterward xx

Thank you for your reply! If you don’t mind me asking, what contraception do you use now if at all?

I had the copper coil in on the 15th of Jan as it is hormone free and with there been a history of cancer in my family I felt this was the best option. I bled on and off and had period cramps and as of yesterday I started my monthly period, so far not too heavy if anything it's lighter. I was told for the first few months it may be heavier and more painful but it could change lol. It takes all of 5 mins for it to be put in and protected straight away. Xx hope This helps xx
