There is a great chance of spread of herpes if you are involved in vaginal intercourse

If u are not sleeping with anyone else and there is no chance u got it from someone before you were with this girl then u will have got it from her and she has either slept with someone else while with u or she slept with someone before u and caught it off them without knowing. I suppose the advice is get checked every time you start a new relationship or get tested regularly of u are not in along term relationship and you are sexually active (one night stands for example) or just wear a condom!!! Hope this helps .

Hiya, I would also like to add that genital herpes can lay dormant on your body for years before getting a breakout so unless you had been previously tested herpes either of you could have caught it a long time ago.

No, only skin to skin contact.

The virus does not survive when on clothing, toilet seats etc.

If you have had sex then you will both have it.

BUT depending on your immune system only when it is low will it come. So you do have the virus all the time but it won't show as herpes breakout all the time. If you get what I mean.
