Herpes: Just been diagnosed with genital herpes... - BASHH
Herpes
yes, and honestly do not stress about it so much! I did when I first had it thinking I was dirty and a disgrace. it's actually such a common infection to have. I started researching online and it made me feel better so maybe you should do that to get more of an understanding. I've only ever had one flare up. just make sure you do not sleep with anyone when you are active and a week after the blisters are gone because you can still pass on the infection. trust me you're not alone in this they're are loads of people with this so do not worry about it x
Hey thanks for your reply
I dont mind the blisters
Its just im getting nerve pain, i havent come across many ppl who gt the labia pain or nerve pain relates to the herpes so im abit worried
My pelvic area lower back upper legs both hurt A few weeks prior to the lesion! Only 1 lesion causes this.
I know everyones outbreaks are different, mine just seems unusual
Its been 7 weeks since ive been getting tingling deep labia pain and random pains down my leg. Im obviously experioencing neuralgia in my pelvic area and im worried it wont subside. 1 doctor has said it hpv related and another says it may not be😖
Thank you for your reply btw xx
I've had herpes over 4 years now and nerve pain for almost 2. In fact yesterday the pain was so bad i couldn't walk, it's always down the same leg and side and it's not only before an outbreak, it can be random times too. Been to many doctors and searched the internet for solutions with no avail. Neuralgia is bloody awful. Sometimes even painkillers don't help. Sadly it's quite a uncommon thing with herpes, i haven't met many with this.
If you need someone to chat about that i'm here for you (could use someone myself who i can relate to too).
I've had this weird tingling or leg muscle weakness when I walk like it's just not right anymore. Been told I've a high positive for one and two and now and then get a cold sore on my lip. Weirdest thing though is scalding hot water from the hand held shower head down there feels soothing to a degree and on my lower calves. Seems like this shit is moving around my body even forehead feels tingly to the touch with scalp. Those aclovir pills just don't seem to work either.
Ahh i had/ have leg thigh foot knee and calf pain on the side which has the outbreak also, makes if difficult to walk .
I miss working out!
I have both types too. Had some tingling in my arm the other day which was worrying. Yea, i agree the aclovir and all of the creams do nothing at all.
I dont understand how neuralgia is so uncommon with gh! Its common sense, herpes effects the nerve so why wouldnt we experience nerve pain?
My nerve pain for the outbreak im on was awful, i couldnt sit without labia pain or buttock pain. See the nerve pain i have is in the gh area which
Its calmed down since the 1 blister. At that point i didnt know it was herpes because there were no blisters!
have you had any mri or cat scans?
Most people are luckier than us, only experiencing 1 or 2 outbreaks their entire life and no other symptoms.
I haven't had any scans yet but i did have a lot of blood tests, a test for shingles (negative) and even tests for other std's in case of something conflicting with the herpes, still no answer.
I'm considering going to a pain specialist to maybe get more information and something to help. I really hope i don't have this nasty pain for the rest of my life though :(.
You wont have this pain for ever, dont let it control your life ok! Where abouts is your pain?
Mine is from my hip all the way down my right leg, so crippling it affects my day to day life.
I hope you're right. It's just so lonely living in another country not having anyone to talk to about it. Kinda hard not to get depressed.
Have you ruled everything else out? And did the pain start right after the outbreak?
Carry on with your life hun, the more you think about the pain to worse it can actually feel! I know its hard but you must find ways to relax and be kind to yourself
