Baby sleep

Llewy is almost 14 weeks (crazy how fast time is going!) and is a cracking sleeper! How much is too much when it comes to baby sleep? I do worry sometimes that he sleeps too much. For example, he slept from 9:30pm-9am, waking maybe twice for a feed. Then he's had 3 long naps today, 1-2 hours each nap. Normal or too much? Bit worried that he hasn't fed much. He takes all his naps on me as he won't go down in a basket or anything so I've been strapped to the sofa today. Any advice?

Don’t be worrying about him sleeping I was the same with Noah and my sister and mam laughed and said when there sleeping there happy and there growing .Your blessed with a good sleeper .Noah was exactly the same and he’s seven now and loves his 12 hours a night .I never had a night light for him or left a light on as he never needed it and now when I leave a light on he shouts me to turn it off 😂😂 so just enjoy your time when llewy is safely sleeping xxxx

That's reassuring, thank you! He is brilliant, loves a good long snooze. Sadly he only sleeps on me, including at night which is not ideal at all and worries me loads but he just will not be put down. When he is awake he is so alert and happy 💙

Ours used to do this and then hit 4 months and are waking like newborns again 😩. Keep trying to put him down for some of his naps. Try white noise. Get a sling too so you can move around when he’s asleep instead of being tied to the sofa!

We have the owl for white noise, he does like it but just will not stay on his back anywhere 😩 we do a lot of baby wearing too, he loves being in his sling ❤️

Enjoy it whilst he sleeps! If he was hungry I’m sure he would wake up 😊 my baby is 4 months, she sleeps 8pm-8am and then naps 10-11, 12-1 and then 3-4.30. Iv let her put herself into this routine and it works for us. She has 5 feeds through the day and a dream feed at 10pm x

plenty of wet nappies and appropriate weight gain? Millie is a good sleeper but wasn't a good feeder so I would wake her up for feeds as she was slow to gain weight. if that's not the case I'd leave him to sleep. how are you doing?

Hi lovely, we're ok thank you! Very fed up now of being stuck in most of the time but loving all the unexpected family time. How about you? Certainly no problem with weight gain, he's a chunky 16.5lbs at 13 weeks and has plenty of wet nappies 👍🏼x

That sounds like really good sleep to me. At 14 weeks up to 16 hrs a day is the norm (I wish mine used to have that much!) so he sounds like he’s on the right track. Both mine were exactly the same re not being able to be put down during the day. I used to use the sleep on me time to chill out and catch up on FB, messages etc or to read a book. It forced me to relax for those periods. If you are feeling trapped and don’t want to be like that then try using a sling and seeing if he will sleep in that. Or get him to sleep in the buggy then once asleep stay asleep. Unfortunately neither of mine did those things but I have friends who it worked for so it’s worth a try. Good luck!
