Rasagiline/Azilect?
However, checking through the meds it seems as if the
azilect
/rasagaline can cause the hypotension. He has tremor bilaterally but unless stressed the tremor is certainly noticeable but not a huge issue.

On top of that I take half
Azilect
in the morning after breakfast. I have no idea whether this is considered a normal dose with room for more, or if it is an already relatively high dose of levodopa with not much room to increase the dosage.

I have also tried
azilect
, neupro, ropinerole, c/l , rytary. I was taking 3 25/100 c/l 5 x/ day and I was experiencing akathisia in OFF time. MDS switched me to Rytary ; no more off time and I am taking less pills each day.

rasagiline (Azilect) vs Xadago (safinamide) be. Ongentys (opicapone)
Hello all, I have been experiencing off times about 3 1/2 hours after taking one C/L, so my MDS suggested one of these three medications as an add on. (I started with Nourianz, which had no effect. I’m wondering about what people’s experiences has been with any of these drugs? Pros and cons? Thanks

Hello. I’m new here.
I was prescribed
Azilect
(dopamine agonist) which I’ve been on since. My doctor said that the effectiveness of
Azilect
was a confirmation of Parkinson’s and he therefore did not pressure me to get a DAT scan (brain scan) to further confirm my PD diagnosis.

Edited: PD increases chance of RLS.(yes) Azilect worsens RLS.(wrong) Ambroxol, being an antihistamine I believe worsens RLS.(incorrect)
Azilect
was not mentioned specifically but increasing dopamine is a “cause of RLS augmentation.” Levodopa increases augmentation meaning it makes RLS worse. So thinking
Azilect
does was not necessarily incorrect. If you have PD and develop RLS, well, it is horrid.

What to try next?
My 69 year old HwP has had tremor dominant PD for the past 7 years - taking only
Azilect
(that he started a year ago). The tremor is much worse, embarrassing him at work, so he needs more therapy. Shooting pain in one foot (and numbness in both) is another recent problem.

Ambroxol is an antihistamine. High histamine associated with PD. Low histamine associated with RLS
My Pd improved so much I considered stopping
Azilect
. Doctor said no need to wean. Just stop. I did. I was fine for about 10 days and I was elated! Then it HIT. Internal tremors that felt like what I believe seizures are like. My head felt like it was bouncing on the pillow.

Any suggestions for managing this kind of dyskinesia?
Today I went back to my old regime of Madopar 100/25 3 times a day and 1
Azilect
. I feel fine again - but the twitchy leg is back. If I take 2 a day with the up to 12 hour gap I don’t have off periods and the twitching is much less.

Stopping Azilect to change to Macuna? I need help.
When I started
Azilect
I did not have RLS. Now I do and it is getting worse. I’m very fearful that it is going to be what pushes me over the edge in to a downward trajectory because RLS = poor or no sleep.

Restless Leg Syndrome RLS long-term use dopamine agonists results in much worse RLS than before treatment, referred to as RLS augmentation.
I believe RASAGALINE
Azilect
has given me restless leg syndrome. Has anyone else had this experience? What I have read from various sources is that dopamine agonists are a short term fix for RLS but can make it much worse long term.

Interaction of Parkinson’s meds with heart meds
I take Ritary,
Azilect
and carb/lev and had heart valve replacement surgery at the end of August. Lots of side effects including hallucinations. Haven’t found much history on this but hear it common with PWP’s.. Mogul 1

RLS and iron metabolism and treating with dopamine agonists causes dopamine burnout
I believe that
Azilect
, an MAOB inhibitor that increases available dopamine might be a cause of my having RLS. brain?“Inflammation – The Connecting Factor in Almost Every Restless Legs Case…”3.
