Hi LOSTAUTISM

Really sorry to hear you're struggling like this. Sometimes things feel like they're all on top of us and day to day is too much. I can imagine it must be exhausting.

Quick question, are you safe? And do you have anyone around you who you can rely on/trust?

Not the best support network, it’s just the lack of support out there. Thank you

I see. It can be hard to find the support that's specifically right for you (especially when a lot of stuff we immediately find is geared towards children).

I would suggest have a chat with your GP, be as honest as possible, and tell them what you feel you need help with and that you're having trouble finding any, as they may be able to direct you to services in your area or further afield that can help out.

There's also an Autism Services Directory on the National Autistic Society website autism.org.uk/directory where you can look up services via keywords in your local area.

And if you just need a listening ear, sometimes it can be really good just to release some of everything inside that's giving you trouble, there are free online listening services and counselling services too (I don't know you situation of course, but having someone to talk to either over phone or online to talk about what you're going through can help give you some perspective on your situation and how you're feeling, as well as helping you work out how to deal with it). For example, I've used IeSO iesohealth.com/ and CALM have a helpline which runs from 5pm - midnight and a webchat I think.

There's also a collection of Facebook groups which are made by and for autistic people who share their experiences, which can be quite validating as we find out there's some commonality in what we're going through.

I really do hope you can feel better soon and get the best support to help you through.

Hi there, I agree with NotJim and think either explaining to someone you trust-family member, friend etc or Dr is a good first step to getting some support if you struggle with getting in touch with services yourself. Many GPs have a social prescriber who can find services and network on your behalf which can make things a little easier.
