Autism frustration help

My son is on the spectrum and when leaving nursery he didn’t quiet get his EHCP done in time, so because of that a specialist setting refused with having no diagnosis or plan in place so I chose a mainstream, he has however come out with his speech his (not enormously) but better.

still can’t initiate conversation or maintain, mainly yes no.

now to my issue because of this he is becoming increasingly frustrated and hitting out due to frustration and not being able to vocalise his issue etc, plus class size is to much etc etc and I have noticed now it’s affecting him emotionally he more tearful and remorseful etc, and it’s so sad to see, he has lost his spark he used to have.

I am in the process of getting plan reassessed and professionals coming in school etc but massive delays, in the mean time council etc need proof evidence ie exclusions sadly, so now when hits out he is being excluded for proof.

it’s affecting him so much as messing his days up, routine etc.

I am emailing etc all and sundry voicing my concerns and it’s kind of automated answers.

sorry to rant but my boys well-being is paramount.

There should be a family information service in your borough like Sendias or parent advice centres for your borough . They are impartial and can give you proper advice. Also SEN coordinator for the echp should be able to sort of give you advice. I would speak to the school Senco. Don’t worry your going to get there and your boy is gona shine! It’s good that his speech is coming a little there are loads that don’t ever get that. It’s a sad by day process keep being good parent and being supportive and any achievement celebrated. School shouldn’t exclude you should get advice first call national autistic society someone will help you properly

Deffo get SENCO involved and just keep contacting the SEND team as much as possible including how far he is in EHCP process… I don’t know if his draft has already come through or not.

If it has you have the right to change things in that document so it can be amended for the final copy then it gets reviewed every year. At least then the school can apply for funding because of EHCP for 1:1 or use or other resources.

I know it’s horrible to see your son struggle with these things, I work in a specialist nursery and autistic myself and it’s every families worst nightmare trying to jump through hoops to get what’s best for their child. At least the panel will be able to see proof that mainstream is not suitable and the school can contact them as well.

Only other time school might refuse him in would be safety reasons for him and or other students if they haven’t said that already. At least that’s more evidence

Has there been any form of communication that he uses aside from simple speech? Like using visuals? Maybe that might help in the meantime… 🤷🏻‍♀️
