Hi Austin

Might be worth contacting MIND on +44-300-123-3393, you can register for an options session with them, which will then enable you to do workshops that they are offering during the year, like “how to deal with strong emotions “ etc,

Have you tried using the ‘right to choose’ pathway?

I went with Problem Shared, after doing their online pre tests and downloading the GP referral letters from their website, I had a face 2 face with the GP and they referred me.

Within a few days I had an email giving me access to a dashboard with problem shared and numerous pre assessment forms to be filled in by myself and an informant. My informant was my hubby as we’ve been together since I was 15 and my mum is unreliable.

I returned all my forms on 31st May 2024 and they called me in August to give me an appointment for my ASD assessment which was this last Weds 6th November. Assessment and informant interview were in the morning and my diagnosis was given in the afternoon after they had their multi clinician discussion. I am officially diagnosed autistic at 49yrs old.

I have my ADHD assessment in early December which I was referred for at the same time and my ASD assessor had said they would have been recommending an ADHD assessment if I hadn’t already booked an appointment.

They are really lovely and it is a 12 to 24 week wait once you have completed your pre assessment forms and they have accepted you onto their wait list.

It is all subcontracted by the NHS so the diagnosis is accepted and recognised by your GP and the NHS.

Not what you're looking for?
