Hi all

So I am 21 and have had ataxia my whole life. As a young woman, I have heaps of earrings but can't put them in without help.

If anyone could share any techniques, it'd be really appreciated

Thanks 😁

Currently my mum helps me with them but I was wondering if I can get away from that and there's some magical technique the Internet is hiding from me. Thanks though.

Sorry no ideas I have just got magnets to try for necklaces and bracelets don’t know if magnets would work for your ears.

Good luck xx

Hi Holly, When I can't get mine in I do the 'finger to nose' exercise. I don't know if this will help you. I think it helps with co-ordination It works for me 90% of the time. Good Luck

I haven't done that for a while but I'll try it.

I have needed to ask for help for a long time, like you ,although I’m an octogenarian,I feel ‘naked’ without my earrings !Any ideas? I hope someone can help us.

you need to ask for help! Can’t do it yourself and there’s no aid to do it yourself!

I wear sleepers all the time cause I can't get earrings in myself. I have tried clip on earrings in the past but I found they hurt my lobes. The sleepers save me looking and feeling bare.
