Thanks for advice on Walker

Hi everyone and thanks for the advice on Walker. I got the ustep Walker with funding from ataxia UK. The funding process was very easy and quick. I must say that the ustep Walker is really good I got it last week - have gone out 4 times - I am walking straight and looking forward instead of down. It is tiring at first but you have to keep at it and get used to it . Thanks to all of you who gave me feedback on what walker to buy. 💓

Hi ! I am interested to read your post about the u-step2 walker. I have been researching it and am quite confused because they seem to range from nearly £3000 down to £800+ ( on offer at the moment for around £450!). Are there different models and which one do you have? I need to progress from a 3 wheeled rollator and in view of the expense am anxious not to make the wrong decision. I researched the Trionic but felt it was too bulky.

Hi my physio sorted me out . The walker is from attainability and sold by Bruce Lindop. Very nice person. I got it for £630. You can try it with Bruce and your physio and then decide. I also got funding from ataxia, so if you Are short of money then do seek funding. Bruce contact is - send you in a bit

Thank you for the information. Where is the company based? Are you able to try the Walker out before you buy?

Yes I was able to try the walker and my physio took2 video s - one old walker and one u step - and there was a considerable difference. You should also try it before buying.I have no idea where Bruce is based but he travels to all clients - so just email him and ask - I live in London Harrow and he came to Northwich park hospital to see me and my physio.

Unfortunately I don’t have a physiotherapist- I think the accessibility to this kind of support varies throughout the country. In my area (Maidenhead) you get six visits and then you are on your own! I have an appointment at the London Ataxia Centre once a year. I will definitely contact Bruce after Christmas and arrange for him to visit. Thank you so much for your information.
