Migraine/headache

I have bad head pain today and I can't figure out if it is a headache or migraine. Paracetamol and Ibuprofen are having little effect. I get these episodes every few weeks but this is the the worst for a long time.

Having suffered with migraines for nearly 20 years with headaches in between then I can say that headaches and migraines are quite different.Usually the pain with migraines is much worse, but having said that my daughter used to have migraines many years ago with no pain but aura instead.

Nausea and sickness maybe diarrhea, not being able to keep any food or drink down. Feeling awful and having to go to bed. Being very sensitive to noise and light with speech sometimes difficult. Not functioning and feeling completely wiped out. I could go on!

The bottom line for me was I could carry on with a headache but migraines, then bed and trying to sleep it off was the only way and then after it passed I would be "zombie" like and "hungover" for at least a day.

Considering that I would be lucky if I had 1 amonth, unlucky if I had 1 or 2 a week then quality of life could be pretty ####!

Sorry about the rant. 😐

Hope you feel better soon.

It's not a rant, I appreciate your contribution and your feedback. I had a pain in the centre of my forehead for a few days now, it's localized so I am not really concerned about it in terms of tumour recurrence. It's most likely a tension headache. I find it difficult dealing with stress. My father had a severe stroke a couple of months ago and with covid we haven't been able to see him face to face. Extremely stressed as he is blaming us for him still being in a hospital. He is now delirious and angry.

Also after a year with no work I am due to restart my part time rehabilitative next week and am struggling in being able to recall how to do it.

That's my rant. As my 4yr old son would say, take it easy.

Sorry for late reply, as I just saw this post. I get this horrendous headaches, that start at my temples and go down to my neck. They're not migraines because no OTC migraine medicine helps, nor does any OTC medication or sleep or caffeine. And they don't make me nauseous or anything. I don't know what they are, but my neck getts super tight on one side, which I believe starts these. Mine last 2-4 days, and sometimes they're so painful I can just cry.

People keep saying they're migraines, but the migraines I use to have I could stop them with caffeine, sleep or medicine whereas these don't stop for days. I have tried everything from Peppermint essential oil, to alternating between hot and cold, but they still last. I just have to wait it ,out. I've had these headaches for years, and like you sometimes they come every few weeks, but other times they come every few months. So I understand the pain you must feel.
