This syndrome might be linked to Ataxia and could involve neuronal antibodies. So does anyone know anything please.

Has anyone heard of Stiff Person Syndrome?

🤔 Have you been diagnosed with SPS.
Cerebellar ataxia commonly presents as gait ataxia, nystagmus, and dysarthria, whereas stiff person syndrome is characterised by painful muscle spasms, intermittent muscle contractions, and heightened startle response. Both conditions may lead to severe gait impairment.8 Feb 2020

Thanks wobblybee. Yes my symptoms do point more to Ataxia.
No I have not been diagnosed with SPS but I do have Ataxia.
The neurologist evades an explanation for the antibodies confirmed by blood tests.
Internet searching links with SPS though.
Just wish that someone could explain more.
Very best wishes to you all.
Is your neurologist at a specialist centre if you are in the UK? They know more than many other neurologists. My cerebellar ataxia, so far, doesn't seem to be SPS. I am asked questions about leg pains but so far they do not fit SPS. I would let your neurologist know if the muscle spasms are very unusual or very painful. A lot of ataxia sufferers have painful muscles in the legs but the muscles don't go hard, mine don't, feel your legs when they are not supporting you. I looked SPS up and decided to leave that alone unless I was actually diagnosed with it. I was told it could be managed nowadays. I'd leave it to your neurologist.
