In my ataxia support meeting, we had an inconclusive discussion about computer technology to help overcome the following problems - of using a keyboard when your hands are unsteady and voice recognition software that can't understand you because of your impaired speech. Does anyone have any experience to share that can help?

Thanks.

🤔On a different support group, somebody mentioned foxitsoftware.com but I haven’t used it myself.

I am interested if anyone answers positively. It’s a real problem.

My only personal experience is that I cannot control a mouse, even the joystick ones, but I can use touch pad easily enough.

Thanks for all your replies so far. I did google foxitsoftware.com but that seems to address a different issue and is rather problematic.

The issue that I have raised seems like it is a common problem that is not so easy to solve. Hopeful there will be other responses that are helpful.

I use a keyguard which was FOC through North West assistive technologies. The keyguard eliminates wrong key strokes.

I also use Listary and wordplex.
