Had a progressive day with my psychologist touched many things, Ataxia, depression, health...
Then to end it all the transport home broke down, 2 hours wait for replacement.
Broke down outside a cafe, it was shut🤣

Dear Matelot-RN, So sorry your transport broke down! I'm glad you had a progressive day with your psychologist visit though! Several years ago I saw a psychologist, as I was having trouble dealing with having ataxia! It was truly the best thing I ever did, as she helped me sort it all out. I no longer see anyone, but have occasional pity parties...,ha! Fortunately they're short lived! My best to you..., ;o)
It`s been driving me nuts... I`ve got ask, what is a "Pity Party?"
It’s adds insult to injury breaking down in front of a closed Cafe 😂
I’m desperate for a psychologist for my depression due to Ataxia has it helped
I can’t answer your question as each person's reason(s) are different. I can only say that you may wish to talk with your Neurologist, GP and/or family as this therapy is about you.
You do not need to be referred.
You can refer yourself directly to a psychological service...
bum
Hi Matelot-RN, I apologize, as I live in the USA (State of Michigan) and forget we have different ways to describe some things (UK verses USA)! Anyway, a 'pity party' is just a way of feeling a bit sorry for yourself, maybe shedding a tear or two. So when I said I have occasional 'pity parties' but, fortunately, they're short lived, only means I occasionally feel sorry for myself (due to having progressive ataxia, of course), but the feeling passes quickly (short lived)! As a rule I'm a happy, positive person, who trys to count my blessings (as I have so many), so 'pity parties' don't happen very often...,ha! Hopefully I explained it understandably! Have a great day...,;o)
Explained excellently🤗
I’ve experienced those since being diagnosed, some days are darker than others, but they are few.
My one to ones with the psychologist are really beneficial.
And of course my great love.....football!
Or as you would say in the States ‘Soccer’🤣 I just love it, really do.
I’m actually watching it now as I reply to you
Well, now I’m rabbiting on a bit so I’ll finish and wish you well, stay safe, and let’s have some feel good parties👍
🇬🇧🇺🇸
And I've watched the USA football all afternoon! I laughed when you said our (in the States) soccer is your football...,ha! I did realize that...,ha! I enjoy football, the college/university teams, but also enjoy soccer! As a matter of fact, basketball, ice hockey & baseball are great sports also, as well as tennis and down-hill skiing! Used to play tennis, as well as did down-hill skiing, but can't anymore (obviously...,ha!). So the next best thing is watching others play! Anyway, some feel good parties sound good to me!!! My best to you..., ;o)
Hi I thought wow in front of a cafe 😞 then I read shut, the great thing is the push part most can't push themselves. Depression is hard to handle but with a device maybe better. A Vagus Nerve Stimulator took my depression away.
