I am here in Italy where there are loads of steps, thankfully with my husband's support I haven't fallen yet. Afraid of letting dAughter down, feel like a nervous wreck. My bloomin glasses decided to break this morning, can't see without them. Husband borrowed some superglue luckily but must be very careful. (Beautiful place). Today have done nothing hoping to be chilled tomorrow! Cathedral has lots of steps, no ramp, had a look yesterday! Anyway hope not to fall, broke pelvis in February.

I will be thinking about you today and hope and pray that you do not fall. Take the steps slowly, hanging on to somebody, going up and down-never be in a hurry. That's how I do it. I have lousy balance with Ataxia, and couldn't walk a straight line if I tried. Enjoy the wedding and please be careful!!

Dear Berejena, If it's any consellation, my daughter married last year in September. Although I didn't have to walk any stairs, I did have to walk down a long, stone aisle (outdoor wedding) to my seat. I use a cane and was accompanied by the groom, with my husband walking behind. I just held tightly onto his arm and took my time! Take your time on the stairs, hopefully your husband is walking with you? If not hold onto the wall/railing on one side and don't rush! Take as much time as you need to be safe! By the way, I live in the USA (State of Michigan) and visited your lovely country five years ago! Enjoy your daughter's wedding (gorgeous cathedral), as everything will be fine! My best to you..., ;o)
