Professor Hadjivassiliou

Well tomorrow is going to be make or break, I’m off to Sheffield to see Professor Hadjivassiliou to hopefully come to some answers, I am coeliac but last year for a couple of months I couldn’t walk properly and my speech was disturbed, I’m ok now but gluten has been the main culprit I have also had psychosis so we shall see what will be will be.

We are lucky to have him available. Such a 'blessing' to have someone know and understand what is happening. Many Neurologists have no knowledge of some forms of ataxia, lovely as these Neurologists can be, it seems better to know, at least you can give a diagnosis or a test result to those who albeit sympathetically (and incredibly annoyingly) suggest it might be 'in the mind'. Knowledge gives you something to work around, if you can. I hope it goes well, he is a very pleasant and knowledgeable person.

Been to see him we think that my symptoms may have been an infection in my ear and mental health, he seemed very knowledgable and understanding has some blood test done and going to have a mri spectroscopy

Hope you get on fine seeing him. I see him next week because I have no definite diagnosis, so here’s hoping, wishing you all the best.
