Does anyone use a grab rail to help them get up after a fall? My living room has a hard, slippery wood floor and it can be difficult to get up again after a fall. Previously when I have fallen over I have crawled over to an armchair or desk, grabbed hold of it and pulled myself up that way. But recently I fell over outside and bruised my hip and when I fell over again in my living room I couldn't get up again. In the end I had crawl like a snake on my backside all the way to my carpetted bedroom and then pull myself up onto my bed-all of which must have taken me 20 minutes at least. But I was thinking if I have a grab rail fitted horizontally on the wall in my living room I could use that to pull myself up.
Does anyone else use a grab rail for this purpose?
