I’m diagnosed with BPPV too, and try to avoid lying on my right side. I had several sessions with a Neurophysiotherapist who applied the Eply Manoeuvre. My GP wasn’t confident in doing it either. For me, the Manoeuvre confirmed which ear was worst affected but didn’t completely alleviate the problem. I empathise with you, the sensation brought on by the Manoeuvre can be sickening to say the least. Years ago, an Ear Nose and Throat Specialist abandoned the procedure because it reduced me to tears. He said I didn’t have BPPV, I was just hysterical πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ I get acid reflux too but not sickness. Currently, I always lie with my head raised on 3 pillows, and my Neurologist has prescribed Acetazolamide, to see if it helps with BPPV πŸ™‚xB

Boy we sound the same except for the chrin8c sickness. I think Doctors dont like do Eply as its so traumatic. Acid reflux attacks bad id have this all the time if the nausea would stop. My whoozy is managable but not the sickness . Im just waiting now thanks for replying πŸ˜€

Hi Suzy, Have you seen the new Hat that has gone on sale in America ? It is a Baseball hat with clear tubing attached and a little pea or something inside , you lie down on your back and move your head in the direction that makes the pea travel along the tube until it has reached the end of the spaghetti shaped course of tubing ,whoever is wearing the hat has now moved all the little particles of calcium or whatever back to where they came from in the vestibular system, and cures your dizzy spells, ...not a fly by night con trick, recommended by American health specialists, meant to be a helluva lot less traumatic than Epley or similar..you can buy from specialist suppliers in UK online ,for about 40...50 pounds..I have researched it and am buying one so I will let you and the forum know how I get on .......(only the Americans could have dreamed this one up) regards jeff

Gosh didn't know how many people get this problem I was just the same nausea dizzy sick and panic attack I felt so ill and norhing was making it better. The tablets I'm now on thank God are working just felt like my life was on hold. My attack came whilst I was at work and at pilates I was in a terible state I had to get my husband to come and get me as I of course couldn't drive it is a weird one!

Im glad your feeling better great news. I have bad days and dreadful days. I could put up with dizzy its the nausea open my eys and bam its there. Today up asap at 6am took serc and stemital by 8am lightheaded and bit queasy but nothing like yesterday's. By late afternoon i seem to be 90% and im so happy except i know i go to bed go to sleep and wake up to nausea again. Seeing a Chiropractor tomorrow see if he can help. If the tablets are working yipeee i had this in November with in moments of getting to Casuality i saw a physio who repositioned the crystals. What they dont tell you is its up to 70% it will return with in 6mnths mine returned in 3mnths but no Eply this time as Gp no go. Hopefully tomorrow's appt will stop the nausea thats all i want now cheers πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
