Just taken over 2 hours to find the energy to get breakfast just museli, fruit and yogurt - no preparation, and feel worn out having to put spoon to mouth - do you think I'm having a bad day. Dont worry answering just thought I would share. Not sure if I want to laugh about it or not !

Sorry you are having a bad day : (

Sounds a great breakfast though.

On breakfast topic though my culinary skills are limited but my daughter has got me into Moma porridge sachets that you just add boiling water to. They are gluten free too x

Dear Nerak4,

Ithink I,ve done well if I can manage to get my breakfast too the table without spilling anything and I have yoghurt not milk as it does'nt spill as much. Since I was diagnosed I've found lots of little things to help with prepare meals. I always buy frozen onions(no more standing and chopping) Also having my groceries delivered has made life easier. Ialso try and prepare my meal during the morning or early afternoon. If I leave it later I am so tired and fall over more. Anything to make life a little easier Best of luck Chris

I am so lucky, and reading all these posts makes me realise it. I can (just about) still cook my full English which I've never been without, yet, except by choice on odd days. Yes, it exhausts me, and I have to sit afterwards for about an hour to recover, but at least I've cooked it and tiredly eaten it!. I find the evening meal the worst now, and I've always loved cooking. My husband is very understanding, but I don't think anybody who hasn't been through it knows what a huge effort all tasks are. Just standing upright in itself is exhausting. So I'll try and keep up the breakfast as I know then that if the worst comes to the worst (as it often does) I can manage for the rest of the day. Fortunately my appetite has decreased these days as well.

Do laugh about it. It's the one thing that gets you through the day. Go with the flow and keep up the good work.

😂 I'm laughing because I've been there, and if at all possible you just have to be able to laugh. None of us thought we'd ever get to the stage where preparing a simple meal would be exhausting, and almost beyond our mental capabilities😉 I used to love a bacon sandwich for breakfast, now if something can't just be shaken out of a packet and doused with milk.... It's the sheer effort of getting out of bed and as far as the kitchen that wears me out, before I even start to think of what to have, how to make it and how long it'll take.

Last week, I made vegetable soup (from scratch and it was a hit and miss affair). I normally remember to put the oven timer on (max 30mins to check what's cooking) but for some reason I didn't bother, logged on my iPad and you can guess how long I was on😉 The pan boiled dry, it took days of soaking, reboiling with vinegar and soda crystals, and finally my husband gave it what for with the steam cleaner, before it was usable again😂 Yesterday, I let it boil dry again😂

Before doing the grocery shopping at the weekend, I decided to try and eat healthier this week. Usually the fridge is like Mother Hubbards Cupboard, on Saturday it was stowed off but, it was all food that needed to be combined and made into something🙄 Requiring concentration and multitasking 😳😳 It had seemed a good idea at the time😂xBeryl

Dear Nerak4, I certainly can relate to how you're feeling! You are not alone in your tiredness! I fret and fret over what to eat, as I make it a simple as possible! Everything takes SO MUCH effort, it's exhausting! Yes, do laugh, laughter is good for the soul...,lol! If I have one out-of-the-ordinary (busy) day, I'm totally spent (out-of-it) the next day! This is our new 'normal'. My best to you..., ;o)

Hi Nerak4. My wife does just about everything in our house except the washing up, that's my job..... I do it because I can lean against the sink. Because I am in one position for so long, when finished I turn around to walk away from sink, my body turns but my feet don't and I end up on the kitchen floor.

When I get exhausted, I have to use my inhaler.

Don.

Don, a man who does the washing up needs to be treasured😉 xB

Beryl, I have always been domesticated, I was a carer for my first wife for ten years, I did all the chores that a housewife would normally do, not boasting just telling it like it was. xx
