Stroke surviver

I got a stroke on June 22 2017 I'm 44 years old , I can move my fingers to a grip but can open only a little does it take long to be able to fully extend them my stroke caused full paralyse to left side I got movement in everything ablet weakly does it take long toga in strength in these joints

Hi

Thank you for your post. I am so sorry you have had a stroke, especially at such a young age. It must've been a dreadful shock to you.

Amount of recovery and times to achieve this are different for everybody. I am sure you will be going through a very difficult time at the moment with lots of different emotions, particularly as the stroke was so recent. However I must stress the importance of trying to keep as positive as you can and keeping up with physiotherapy.

Do you have ataxia?

hi i had my stroke 22 june 2012 then accired ataxia as Harryb says recovery differs from person to person there are still things i cannot do not from the stroke but because of the ataxia, take care and keep strong, here is stroke group called kicking strokes ass in words they are a lovely friendly group of all ages please join will help you loads xx
