Hi carolyn_corl

I have a cerebellar ataxia but do not have dizziness or nausea. I know that there folk on this forum who have dizziness and nausea secondary to ataxia but the underlying damage to the cerebellum is not caused by stroke. I have found an interesting 'download' on the Stroke Association website and hope this might be helpful to you and your husband. The link is stroke.org.uk/resources/bal...

Best wishes

Harriet

Hello my name is Andrew and I have cerebellum Ataxia I yo have lots of falls Because the cerebellum affects my balance and coordination attention span is short I laugh now when I fall and say should take more water with it. It works for me to joke better than moping about it.

I, too, have CA and have fallen a number of times. My balance is not good and once I start to fall, I can't catch myself. Last year, I had a concussion and blunt force trauma, cause I fell face first. Now, during the winter, I wear a heavy hooded coat and fur hat, so that if I take a fall, i won't get hurt as badly. I am uncoordinated too, and a bit clumsy. Joking and laughing at oneself makes it a little easier to cope, for sure.
