Hi, I have Cerebella Ataxia and use the 'Paying too Much' site for travel insurance. I did a comparison and found that £12.50 was added to my holiday policy - you're asked a few questions about your abilities. This was for a single trip. Hope this helps.

Hi

I'm in the UK and I have used Staysure with great sucess. Application was all online and using single trip insurance was very reasonable. But I suggest you go online and answer the questions once you have declared the condition, The quote you get (online) will depend on the answers you give to those questions.

Good Luck!

Hi, I have travelled to Spain for a week's holiday each year for the past 5 years and have checked out several insurance companies online, all of whom have been able to provide cover. I am going again in October, this time for 2 weeks and my wife & I have been quoted £154 for us both. About 1/3 is her portion - she has Osteo-arthritis and a hip-replacement. Pro-rata this is an increase of about 10% on last year and has nothing to do with our health.

All the companies were much of a muchness and I chose Good-to-go because they looked after me very well 4 years ago when I had a fall and broke my ankle when on a cruise.

I use the comparison sites on the internet and have found that the costs are surprisingly normal. In fact I suspect that I pay a higher premium for my age(73) than I do for having SCA2
