Sorry that you are having this difficulty I know that I have to do self caths at least times a day to keep my bladder all the way empty you may want to try it twice a day especially before going to bed.

😑I sympathise with bladder spasms, the one's I have are excruitiating. Sometimes it takes quite a while for the pain to go away but I don't associate this with needing to pass urine. In the past I've had bladder investigations but nothing untoward was found.

For peace of mind, ask your GP for a referral to a specialist 🙂xB

Hi , I must save up for night-time when I go up to 4 times usually or 6 times in the extreme. I find that I have to squeeze my bladder. I wake up tired. My neurologist just said 'how annoying for you', maybe a GP visit would refer me to someone.

😳 Did you tell your Neurologist about 'having to squeeze your bladder'? Make an appointment with your GP and ask for a referral to a specialist, don't just put up with it when there may be a solution, or at least, help 🙂xB

Thanks for your concern wobblybee, no I did'nt tell neurologist about squeezing, I won't see him until October. I'll see GP for a referral. 😁X

Hi.

It's so annoying for you. I'm currently seeing an incontinence nurse. Ask your neurologist if anything can be done ie tests. I do know that tablets can be given as a last resort but maybe they can suggest other things that may help?

All the best 🤗

I am currently taking pills to help me empty my bladder fully whilst l understand that taking pills to help is a last resort. If l don't take them l retain liquid and l "blow up"resulting in a hospital visit. This is caused by liver damage. Just a thought

Hi I use Solifenacin to reduce bladder urgency, as the muscles that control the bladder are affected with ataxia. Obviously as a man it's different, fortunately I don't have any issues about the time it takes. I drink about 1.5 litres a day, hope this helps.
