Hello Helen555 :) I have that type of Ataxia but do not know the number :( I get this unbelievable pain in my ankle region, at night, it wakes me up, I worry if I'll make it to the toilet. I never even considered if this is Ataxia related or not ~ your responses will be well awaited!! Pain killers don't work for me. I've always just blamed the cat ~ sleeping on my feet :) :) or heavy blankets, I do get some releif from a chiropractor (that's just me, may not be for others) The pain is very scary and intense I'm sorry your young people are going through this :( :(
