Lying down and sitting..

Why am I so much better (even perfect) when I lay down (in silence) or sit down? When I am engaged in either, I feel normal... If the issue is that our heads are still in these poses, can't this be replicated by a device or heavy piece of metal worn on the head?

my head shakes outwardly as does my arm but sitting or lying down puts me in a false sence of security, i even booked a holiday abroad got up remembered i cannot walk and thought how am i going to do this, but i did it was a bit hair raising occasionally but did it

Yeah..sometimes I forget too. But at least you did it. Brava! In my case, nothing moves outwardly and no one can tell tiil they see me move and then I seem strange. I have been asked "do you have MS?" " I usually say that I broke my leg. Explain CA is too complex. How long I will get away with this white lie is anyone's guess.

my ataxia was bought on by a massive stroke, my face is out of shape so people think it was that so do not have to explain why i walk as though been drinking all night, although usually in wheelchair

Really? You look so young to have had a stroke. Was it brought on by something? A youngish gal whom I know had a massive stroke too. This, just a short time after she re-married. But her husband stood by her which is nice especially since she stood by husband#1 who was stricken with a lethal form of cancer though her parents were against them marrying. -- though they did. The world aint a simple place for some, that's for sure.

When it rains, it pours. At least, your husband is on board! Mine is not.

I'm exactly the same. Can do anything sitting or lying but can hardly walk I am so dizzy. However, eyes are jumpy (nystagmus) whether sitting or lying.
