Has anyone heard of a lung flute....?
I looked on Google and found the following:
'The FDA-cleared Lung Flute is the only product that uses sound vibration to stimulate your body's natural mucus-clearing system – effectively thinning and dislodging mucus deep in the lungs so that it's easier to cough up. The small, reusable, plastic device is non-invasive, easy to use and drug-free – just blow into the mouthpiece and the device will do the rest.
Clinical tests have proven the Lung Flute's ability to break up mucus in the lungs, making it equally effective for both therapeutic and diagnostic use. Unlike other devices, which rely on pressure and can't reach deep lung mucus, the Lung Flute's technology is based on low-frequency acoustic waves that are produced when you blow into the flute-shaped device.'

Yes geewiz, I have been using my lung flute mucus clearing device since last November and find it very effective for removing secretions deep in the lungs, see my blog " My Lung Flute....."
It is seems most suitable for bronchiectasis which I have. The manufacturer say it is a lung hygiene device suitable for copd etc. If you have pneumothorax though it's best to ask respiratory consultant if it would be suitable for you to use.

Hi Zube thanks for the answer,Have just been told that I have emphysema after a visit to the doctors, found it hard to clear mucus. Can you let me have details of where to obtain from and costs etc?
Regards
geewiz
geewiz my flute came from Germany,lungentrainer.de/lungflute and cost about £44 using PayPal, with google chrome there is a "translate" facility.
I used lungentrain.de as the postage is cheaper than buying from US where it was designed and made, don't think we can buy in UK yet, although amazon maybe.
ps, have you got one of those little electric cars ?... the "geewiz" ?? su
evergreen-nebulizers.co.uk/... delivery £45 and its a uk site

As someone else said earlier a really good firm to deal with, don't forget to check if you need to pay vat, most of us don't. It's very simple just breath out slowly through it, adjust the angle it sits at in your mouth and you can feel when the ball inside is bouncing up and down then a couple of quick puffs and up she comes (as the old sea shanties went ).
My wife says it's the best thing I have purchased in ages. It won’t work instantly every time, but the very rare time it doesn't I find I get a result shortly afterwards. Good luck
Forgot to say, some hospitals have them to give FOC to patients, might be worth asking
Hi all, very interesting answers re lung flute and flutter. I have never heard of either of them
being new to this site.
I am interested in buying one of these so could anyone tell me which is best to purchase
as both of them seems to be around the same price?
Many thanks.
