Hi I have just been diagnosed with co... - Lung Conditions C...
Hi I have just been diagnosed with copd (Thursday) and have got a seretide 250 inhaler which i have to use twice a day smoked for 45yrs.
Hi jkirstya. I have Seretide but to be honest I haven't really bothered to notice when it kicks in, I just know it works.
thanks Puffthemagicdragon
It will probably take more than a couple of days for you be feel any benefit. Good luck and leave the fags in the bin!
Hello and welcome
It is all very scarey at first, well done with the cigs.My advice would be ring the helpline, and listen to the great advice everyone on here will give.
And ask to go on a Pulmonary Rehab course.

What else could I say,? All great advice! Good luck with it all,the biggest present you could give yourself,is to give up the fags!Remember to save that money, in a separate place, and spoil yourself with something nice, when it adds up!
Cheers Wendells xx
I find find this interesting,my wife is also a lifelong smoker has been prescribed by our GP Seretide 500 because of her bad cough. No diagnosis of COPD or anything else, and yet she had been given double the dose of someone who had been diagnosed with COPD. All very confusing, will take it up at our next visit. Her cough has got a little better but still bad at night.
Seretide is a combi-inhaler, providing short term relief and long term steroidal prevention. You will probably need to take this for a while to feel the full benefits. If you have a short term breathlessness the blue Ventolin/Salbutamol inhaler is the reliever to use. This can be used as often as required, within reason.
hi jkirsty, leave them cigs in bin, you got off lucky,I woke up in ICU after pnumeonia dont even remember my 4 weeks in all over them weeds,I smoked 40 a day,but never put one in my mouth past 10 months, and am on same Seretide twice day, good luck xx
