I got my decision today from the tribunal and i have been awarded the higher rate mobility rate.( when i applied i was actually requesting the lower rate)
no care component but this was based on the time when i did not need care.
No reason why not. You just start a new claim, with new information about your condition now. Get help if possible, you should not lose what they've already awarded.
Your condition has changed, you're now unable to dress yourself, look after your daily needs, or cook... have that frame of mind as you fill the form in.
A word of warning on slapping in a new claim now on how you feel today. I was awarded the high rate of DLA. Am now much worse and have some care with things I could not do myself, but am essential to my living. However, I will not put in another claim. For a start the stress will start again. And the whole claim, mobility and care is in effect being claimed again. It is not a case of writing to say I am much worse and claiming for just one element. The choice is yours. Worse case is that even though you are worse, your claim is declined, lose your present award, and so the fighting to get what you are entitled to starts again with appeals, and all the stress that entails. It is wrong that this government has made us frightened to claim, but guess that was their intention all along.
the lady who was in before me could hardly walk, i was so out of breath and we where both there because someone looked at a piece of paper and decided that we where no "sick" enough -
it is such a inhumane process-
What i find incredible is that it costs £110 a day to keep an illegal immigrant in detention, this does not include things like medication( which most throw away because they don't really need it!) they don't have to fight for it, it is thrown at them - they have not paid into the system- i ask for a bit of help from a system i have paid into since i was 16 years old and have to go through embarrassment and humiliation to get it.
To make matters worse i just don't have the energy to fight for whats right anymore!!!!!
good. i am glad you have succeeded in you application. when i applied , i was amazed , the doctor that came out to assess me was my old doctor, i thought that's it i have no chance . to say he was a bit keen is a understatement, to get a sick note off him was like winning the lottery. but after the examination he confirmed what the hospital has said was true and i wouldn't be able to do a job anymore due to my condition, and after another visit to another doctor, i was awarded both components of the benefit.but that's quite a long time ago now
Hi Krazylady I am really pleased for you and you are so cock a hoop about getting your due it shows what a nice lady you are. Nice people however like to show gratitude and I would guess that you would be happier waiting a little time before looking again and asking for more help but remember you have worked all your life. Im sure, however you will be helped in your decision and with your application by Carol who once again has offered invaluable help. Time to take what is your due. Happy motoroing and many congratulations - you have had a time of it lately.
