Misty Cough?

Hi I have mild Emp and for the past few days I have had a misty top chest cough, bringing up clear spit. Had full blood count done and all came back fine not even enemic. Any ide what the misty thing is in my chest.

Hi David, No idea, could be just down to weather changes, ie, more moisture, humidity, pollen, pollution, a new aerosol spray you or someone else is now using, (I don't use aerosol sprays at all), some cleaning agents also can have this affect on airways, also dust or smoke of any kind (if there is building work near you or someone has been burning a fire outside), pets some pump action cleaners, quite a lot of things can affect my airways.

Its great your blood work came back ok, congrats, I would say just keep an eye on cough if it doesn't improve or if mucus becomes discoloured you need to go to your doc to get things checked out. Also keep a mental note of when the cough is triggered, think about what you have just been in contact with, if it is only happening at certain times of day or night etc.

Thanks for all the advice, I will keep an eye on things and try see what is causing this, never knew about the deo aerosol's, Ive always used them?

Hello David,

not got the foggiest what a misty cough is, I have a tickly cough on my chest, my husband assures me it is a touch of hypochondria whatever that is, will ask the doc about it though as it sounds like I need to get into the surgery for a blood test to see what triggers a misty cough and if its the same problem as what youve got David.

Hope we can get some answers from those who have misty coughs

I can only describe it as misty as it's at the top of my chest, clear spit and fells like ive been in a room with a smoke machine. Only there now and again, might be the start of a cold as ive had a few sneezez over the past few days. Could be nothing.
