I have just read the posts which mention Symbicort and have a question - I take Sprivia, Seretide and Ventolin.
Does the Symbicort replace the Seretide.

hi Libby, yes the symbicort does replace the seretide. I am on symbicort, the seretide wasnt helping me at all, so the doc put me on that/ There are a couple of different strengths of symbicort too, i am on symbicort 400.

Thankyou San.
I keep referring to the excellent COPD booklet that was produced by NHS Sheffield, which explains a lot of things, including inhalers and what they do.

Symbicort is a combination of two types of medication, which may have been two separate inhalers previously.
A good link Gordon.
Gordon57 the link to web page is broken. Its not available.
This question is going to come up again, thought the first one hadn't gone ! not to worry
Libby. ( I think I'm now replying to my own blog).
Use two puffs of 400 Symbicort along with Spiriva that leaves Ventolin as my rescue inhaler and the need for plenty of pockets in a jacket when carrying them haha.
Have two doses morning and night of 200 strength Symbicort no problems have come in almost two years of using this if you do not count it not working almost instantly for me which is what was wanted by me lol
i do too chiggles. I was warned not to take more than 5 puffs a day because of the steriods in it. So I just do the 2 puffs twice a day. It helps. x
