i get so tired & exausted even when i do nothing but go around the house, being breathless scares me, although i ave my easy breath inhaler there are times it dont work, i have to lay down a few times a day, is this suppose to be like thiis? it is a terrible illness to have & i can no longer clean my home, go shopping & at times hard to dress & wash myself due to being breathless & tired. thankyou for all replies in advance.

So sorry you are feeling like this betsyanne. You are not alone im finding i get very tired and when doing housework I have to stop and start a lot. Im puffing and panting when i get out of the bath too! I just go slowly - fortunately im not working at the moment so I have the time. Just take it at your own pace and accept being slow. You might need another inhaler have you spoken to your doctor? I use salbutomel, symbicort and spiriva. The last one specially is very good. Might be worth asking. All the best love xx

Time to get meds and life sorted then you will be looking at support to get the best from life.

Hard choices at first does get easier when you accept it will have to be at your own speed or avoided.

Hi betsyanne, sorry for your difficulties, I think you need to speak to your doctor and get referral to a respiratory consultant also ask for referral for pulmonary rehabilitation to help you manage your symptoms better. Ask your doctor about access the community matron also the OT team to assess you at home.

Hope you can get things rolling soon, let us know how things are going.

Take good care.

I so relate to this !! But there is hope ....although a lifelong non smoker I was diagnosed with COPD and Asthma a number of years ago.I have been on oral steroids -Prednisolone- for about 6 years and got down to a 5-7mg maintainance dose .Usual side effects of weight gain etc & still struggling to breathe ..its horrible -puffing ,tired and fed up ,but a month ago I was put on Spiriva and it feels like it's making a difference which is wonderful.I still use my preventer & rescue inhalers but it's the little things which thrill me .....things I thought I'd lost forever.Going to the shops -walking there without ten stops on the way ...cleaning my apartment ....( not a major lover of housework before !) having a shower and being able to have enough energy to restart the Gym ....which I'd been supporting every month but not going ha ha.

Please keep strong and go back to your GP -mine is better than my Consultant- keep up with any new developments and be persistent...hard I know when you're feeling down.
