Extreme tiredness. : I have been told I... - Lung Conditions C...
Extreme tiredness.
x rays often show clear with copd .
My X-rays showed clear today according to my consultant. He said my COPD (and Bronchiectasis) were very mild.
Maybe that's what your doctor meant? It's mild and your lungs are otherwise in good nick. Possibly.
mine the same as symes but i combat the tiredness by using mucus removing device every morning to get it off my chest (literally) called Acapella or a Flutter
I am seeing the pulmonary physio weds next week,do you have a question i can ask advice from her for you if you require?
Hi Marcel wave ,have you had a blood test to see if you are anaemic.....that may make you tired and more breathless.
I like your name by the way....my hair now looks as if it has had a perm , it used to be straight and dark ....now grey and curly , I blame the medication!
You may want to get your carbon dioxide levels checked. It's a specific blood test that the doctor has to order - a regular blood panel will not show it. This could be the reason you are always tired. If you find you are a carbon dioxide retainer (many COPD patients are) you might need to sleep with a mask and a C-pap machine. If this is your problem this sleep aide will make all the difference.

You can minimize the tiredness by, as stated by reyeediane, checking your co2 levels at night.
Tiredness can be from being short of breath a lot. At my worst shortness of breath days, I struggle to do anything. At my worst, I sleep, but it's not a good, deep sleep. Then I'm tired in the morning.
You maybe sleeping a lot, but is it a 'good' sleep? Are you on an antibiotic? Short of breath most of the time?

I too went through.the same symptoms. I was sleeping for England. I had always been a night person up unto early hours but suddenly i would be in bed by 9pm sleep all night, get up at 8am but go back to bed by 11am and sleep until 2 or 3. It turned out besides all the other problems i have i was also B12 deficient. I had to have injections 2 days each week for a month then one injection weekly for 3 months. It made a big difference. Now every 3 months i have blood test to see if i need booster.
