I take vitamin B complex, which contains B 1, 2 and 6, but not B12. I don't think it has any nasty side effects. For energy I also take Cordyceps. I don't whether they work or not, but seeing as I have been in pretty good health, despite the emphysema, I am continuing with the supplements and my physical activities regime.

Hi Andy, I was interested to note you said your wife has to take B12 becsuse of the damage caused by acid tablets. I take Omaprazole to counteract acid. Could you explain a bit more as I have been wondering for some time if I should come off these. The fewer tablets needed the better I think. Unless we have to take them. Thanks

My wife took two a day like me, but no one told us what damage they can cause, so now my wife has to have b12 injection every 3 months. She's also stopped taking them now but her acid was not has bad has mine i have cut mine down to one a day, but i sitll suffer bad with acid all because we stopped smoking.

What do you mean acid tablets? What kind of acid tablets and how does that involve the B12 tablets?

Thank you

acid tablets you get from the doctors for acid reflux. she has b12 inections every 3 months for life now because of the damage they caused.

Wow that is really something and very unfortunate. Sorry to hear that.

That's why i cut mine down to one a day. also acid tablets are only meant to be short term not for ever.

Hi๐Ÿ˜Š

I used to get Vit B shots and then started taking supplements, however, after researching B vitamins, I never take them anymore. B1 and B12 have had bad reviews over the years with specific lung issues and smoking. However, they shouldn't make you tired ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ’

Hi RedSox๐Ÿ˜Š

Back in 2005 when I had lung cancer and lost my left lung, my pulmonary dr. said not to take B supplements, as I was also prone to take lots of the B's, he said they promote growth in cancer tumors, since then the opinion hasn't shifted much, but now they say B12 supplements in men who smoke. I don't know how to copy a link to here, but here it is: health.harvard.edu

Try that and let me know if you managed to find it. Catch you again, have a safe day ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘, Bev xxx
