Have u used yr reliever inhaler? Also. If u have mucous. Have u tried lung clearance techniques. I try gargling at times -"small amount of fluid as far back as I can.i hope it eases 4u and u soon get results - if answers aren't there. I'd request endoscopy into throat & ? Bronchoscopy+ ct scan .hope u get some sleep x

I have been diagnosed with a hiatus hernia and prescribed omeprazole to manage the symptoms, which for me was overwhelming nausea. Have you been offered that? I know some people take gaviscon to calm the symptoms.

Thankyou Karenanne61,yes I take Esomeprosole,or Gaviscon, but the cough seems to be getting worse in the last few days.i did a bit of gardening lately so could it be Spring Pollen as BenHall1 mentioned.

Hiya,

I have a diagnosis of COPD, not that I particularly agree with it because nobody can tell me which lung function feature is primarily responsible for my breathing issues and my cough. So, I have an inhalant spray - Mometasone furoate ( 50 micrograms/actuation ) and guess what else ............ bog standard, over the counter, Benylin for Chesty Coughs. Sorted !

All I'm waiting for now, just to stir me up, is spring pollen from trees and hedgerows 😱

I use 'bronchostop' in both the gums and liquid form, available from a chemist. The gums I keep in my handbag for when I'm out and about and one of those annoying coughs takes hold. x

hi, sorry to hear about your cough keeping you up. Although I have emphysema I very rarely cough but my mother coughs all the time but I can’t remember what she does (my memory is bad) but I will ask her today and let you know. Good luck. Kevin

Try acetaminophen for sinus. I have had a cough for 3 plus years and not sure if it’s a side effect of metoprolol I take or my cholesterol meds or it’s just a sinus problem. And doctors can’t tell me. If the cough becomes real aggravating I take 2 of the sinus Tylenol and that relieves it and the shortness of breath that comes with it sometimes. The metoprolol I take is for AFIB which went undiagnosed for 5 years until 2020 when I was hospitalized to have my thyroid removed.

If you have "Hiatus hernia" - There are your current medicatin and sme life-style changes such as eat small meals often rather than one large meal. Fatty and fried foods are a trigger to excess acid, so best avoid.

For you cough, Pat was right use your reliver inhaler as acid can irritate the throat causing cough. pat again was spot on with gargle. I have used a little salt with look-warm water.

if you have no reliver inhaler, you would be wise getting one, I have had that could a while ago. and it is a pain,
