Got results od CT scan Dr some good news some bad really ,this was a deep CT scan and I have some large 15mm, 9mm plus others in both lungs , cancer has been Queried but they think it’s probably from an infection and inflammation that I have had.
My Dr was very annoyed that no one contacted me after 11 days and that I haven’t yet seen the lung specialist yet he did try to sort things out for me and I should hear something next week.
I will be having another scan in three months time .

I had a very suspicious large nodule at Xmas 22 or 23 .they expected it to be cancerous.i took attitude till following scans that it was nothing to worryy about until told different - I stopped other thoughts in their tracks.i still have it but no change to it.frequently they are areas of inflamation/ infecction.all the best,we r here4u x
Thanks for the reply Patk 1 that’s what I am hoping for and I have been really ill with a virus or something since November and then again in January it does mention inflammation too which I am not surprised at from this never ending cough.
It's been a long + bad winter for bugs & coughs that linger.u must be exhausted.hope u get on top of the infection with antibiotics- if u feel you need more, don't let thm run out before getting more.sometimes we need an extended course xxx
I had spiculated nodules in both lungs, picked up on both CT and MRI scans, for which they fully prepared me to expect a lung cancer diagnosis.
It was considered serious enough that they jumped me to the front of the queue and pressed ahead with a full cycle of cancer diagnosis at the height of covid.
At 3 months they'd shrunk and at 6 months they'd vanished. Turned out to be nothing more than pockets of slowly resolving infection from a serious bout of double pneumonia.
They've now asked me if they can use my scans to try to teach diagnostic AI to differentiate between infections and cancer.
It must be a worrying time for you MrsP70 and hopefully it will be something that resolves itself. I hope your gp has put you on something to reduce the inflammation while you are waiting to see the lung specialist. Please let us know how you get on x
I’m on the same path as you. A CT scan which diagnosed pneumonia (and ruled out embolism) back in November did annoyingly find some smallish nodules.
I’m due my three-month check CT in April. I’ve had another couple of chest infections in the interim, so I’m not particularly optimistic that all will have resolved just yet.
I’ve decided to put my head in the sand slightly until I need to deal with anything new. Also, anything they might find that I don’t like will be early, and eminently treatable at this point, so I’m trying to keep my glass half full for now 🥂🤞🤞🤞
I hope that all resolves for you - and good that you have your GP on your side and speaking up for you - keep in touch 💐
I do hope the lung specialist sees you soon MrsP and that it all turns out to be something easily sorted. Best of luck, try not to worry in the meantime, take care. xx
Hello MrsP70, I'm in the boat with you. Had a CT scan 2 weeks ago and they found "groundglass opacity" in my left lung. I will have another CT scan in 3 months also. Two years ago I had lower lobe of right lung removed due to cancer. Hopefully, this new thing is only an infection. I see the pulmonologist Monday so I'll see what he says. Hopefully, you just have an infection. I'm told 85% of the stuff that shows up in a CT scan is either an infection or benign tumor. Sending you good wishes from Texas. (No tariff for this chat! LOL)
Yes the left lung one had ground glass , with how I have been Ill with a “ Virus” these past few months I am hopeful it’s due to inflammation and infection. X
Hello! They found nodules of a similar size in my lung also, but when they redid the CT 3 months later they had disappeared. Hope the same for you 🤞🤞😘 xx
From my understanding you are talking about having nodules in your lungs. Obviously nodules can be worrying but most nodules have little clinical significance. My first nodules were found in 2016 and since then following various bouts of pneumonia I have had more. All have gone away given time and infection free periods. At the present time have one in my left lung and I am also having a follow up CT scan in a few months. The important thing here is that you are being followed up and your specialist is keeping an eye on them . Very few nodules lead to cancer the important factor is that any changes will be picked up early by your specialist.
That's the attitude I take,Pauline - time to worry whn they tell u to. no wonder areas show up with/after infection.one tip,if they says its resolved - only IF you want to know - I specifically ask " ru saying it has completely gone?" .I'm able to cope with a problem, and manage it by having full picture, but we are all different xx
