I think I have been getting oral thrush occasionally with use of Fostair 100/6 DPI 2 puffs twice a day. I have not had a great crop of white spots in my mouth but I have had two occasions of suddenly finding a bleeding lesion on the roof of my mouth.
Clearly if this continues I will have to seek medical attention in case it is something other than thrush, but I wanted to ask how forum members deal with oral thrush. I already gargle and rinse my mouth out with clean water after every single puff.

I find cleaning your teeth, rince with water and a final rince with a good Mouth Wash after using Fostair morning and night very good. I have never had mouth thrush. Hope this helps you. Bye for now and take care.
Good Morning,First, I would get your mouth checked out ASAP to rule out anything sinister.
When I use my fostair I rinse, gargle, spit then drink some water after each puff. After that I open an actimel/ prebiotic drink, I swirl it around my mouth as I drink it and swallow it slowly. So far, touch wood, I've remained oral thrush free.
I have recently moved off Luforbec (replacement Fostair) as it was giving me a bad cough and having problems with fingers using standard inhalers), onto Qvar and Formoterol Easyhaler and have had the worse cause of thrush. I always rinse my mouth after using inhalers and have hardly ever suffered thrush. This time it has affected my mouth, throat and down into my stomach, the burn is terrible. I am leaving out Formoterol Easyhaler using just the Qvar to see which one is causing this problem, although I don't think I will stay on either as they just don't seem to be helping me. Hope you get yours sorted out x
I ended up with a sore mouth, which I thought was thrush, but was due to being low in vitamin B12. This in turn was due that I had an infection in my stomach of a bug, Helicobacter Pylori. This bacteria can cause ulcers in the stomach. I was put on two antibiotics to knock the bug out. Then I was given B12 tablets, which corrected the situation.
I am prone to mouth ulcers, and I have found that NSaids such as Ibuprofen and an inclusion in toothpaste, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. Since cutting those out, I don't get mouth ulcers.
Hi I too got oral thrush with Fostair. I took it for years before it affected me. I ask the Asthma nurse about it and she said to use a spacer. Since then I’ve had no more trouble.
hi just wanted say this is what my grandson has for thrush in the mouth the gp doesn’t know why he keeps getting it but he’s had it on and off since he’s been born and he’s now 2 I think you can buy this from pharmacists or similar it’s fast acting aswell my grandson has this and a day or two after it’s gone I think it’s for 7 days though hope this helps 😊maybe a visit to gp first to make sure what it is you’ve got just to be on the safe side 😊xx
I do agree with GrizzyWort that you should seek a mouth check with your gp asap to rule out anything sinister. I've been on the forum 12 years and cannot recall anyone having a bleeding lesion with thrush. Plain live yogurt, pre & probiotic foods and cutting sugar from your diet all help tremendously. (As advised to me by a great gp years ago, he told me sugar feeds candida/thrush/fungi when I had it many years ago). I still eat about 250grams of live yogurt in my breakfast most days livening it up with blueberries and a few raspberries + unsweetened granola.
I'll just add that for a long time & due to using inhaler Seretide my skin got very thin everywhere including the soft tissues in my mouth, particularly my throat. A bit of toast, a crisp, well done chip & my dark rye Ryvita would scratch my throat. This caused blood blisters of various size depending on the sharpness of food. My skin would rip off when knocked too however this all ceased after changing inhaler, just mentioning it because it might be relevant.
hallo, I had the same issues either with oral thrush , then I tried inhalator extension (f. e. Phillips Optichamber, but there are more types) which delivers the corticoid stuff direct to the lungs and keeps the mouth free of it. Rinsing have to be done either anyway. good luck!
Since I’ve used Fostair if I have anything spicy I get like blood blisters appear in my mouth. They disperse quickly. I saw the doctor but they had dispersed by then but I showed her a photo and she wasn’t concerned.
