I saw this device on You-tube which helps control breathlessness. I would love to try it but because its made in America the postage is over £18.00 the device us £23.00 and honestly there's very little to it. Has anyone tried and tested this device. Would be nice to hear if anyone has. 🤔

I've tried the Pari pep device - free frm respiratory physio.its like a little pipe with a small ball bearing in which causes vibrations in lungs as u breathe into it.its effective at helping to loosen mucous with vibrations but I found it got too moist &I was forever drying it off mid use.i prefer aerobika.

Sounds very much like a flutter device

Hi PatYeah I have the air physio cost me £60 but hasn't helped one bit. Its a device to help with breathlessness that I need, not to loosen mucus. Thank you for your reply. 😊

Hi BikerThey don't have anything in the UK to help with breathlessness. All the devices we have here are just to help expel mucus. The UK are so far behind with COPD treatments. ☹️

Aerosure device is intended to both clear mucus and also strengthen lung function, 2 different settings. maybe worth a look, pricey but well backed by medics.

you are right there are no devices to help with breathlessness, gentle exercise to improve lung function and stamina might help. I’m on a low dose Oramorph which is the standard treatment for breathlessness. Unfortunately breathlessness has nothing to do with lung strength etc, it’s a muscle reaction caused by a perceived lack of oxygen. I’m on ambulatory oxygen and still get breathless I live with it now and use a mobility scooter, stair lift etc to help with mobility

I have stage 4 copd and was in the er 5 times last year when I couldn’t breath. My life was getting unbearable. Finally got a new pulmonologist and he prescribed 250 mg of Azithromicine daily. It’s been a life changer! I can climb stairs again! I also started pulmonary excerxise with a you tube series with Donna Wilson, who has worked with Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. Her approach is simple yet effective and different from the standard breathing techniques. There are 6 or 8 videos. Notice deeper breathing and my Oxygen levels have jumped considerably. Not sure if azithromicine is used in the UK but…. wish you the best Jake!

Thanks for replying Sedonalady.I don't want to know what stage I am. But I've just had the awful flu virus just after Xmas. My breathing is not as bad as it was. We do have azithromicin but not sure I'm at thar stage where they will prescribe it. I am starting pulmonary rehabilitation soon. So fingers crossed this will help no end. 😊
