Hi Cooperman, I was given one of those while in Northern general hospital last September, I have it at home now. Do yes I suppose you can still get them. Please let me know how you get on finding one. Take care and happy New year to you.😊 Bernadette xx
Yes they are available on prescription/NHS My partner has been to GP today for one.
Thanks so much you are all great with your help. I need as much help with this condition especially working on a ward for 12 hours lol. Not conducive with having low Spo2
I was given one in Ipswich 2weeks ago I had never heard of them .it was a Phisio who was teaching me to cough .she was very good .i was in with her for ages .
Yes you can get the Acapella Choice on prescription, although your GP may not know this, but you can.
If I remember rightly you have yet to see a specialist con and resp physio and you may be given one there. If for any reason you don’t get one on prescription and have to buy one, please make sure you get a VAT medical exemption.
In the past I’ve hadthemfrom the hospital, bought some and now I get them on prescription. The little metal magnet thing within doesn’t last forever for sure.
I know there is a video on the ERS link I posted but you might find this helpful too.

I received one last year following a recommendation to my GP from a respiratory nurse. In all honesty, I find the Active Breathing Technique works far better for me. Also, I believe the cost to the BHS is in excess of £100 (only told this, not seen it in writing) and if this is true, it seems very expensive for a relatively simple plastic moulding.
Yes, I've recently been prescribed my second one. I don't find them very impressive at all. The flutter device on both are faulty
