Herbal remedies

Is anyone having any success with herbal remedies for breathlessness. I've heard so much about herbs helping people not sure if this is true. People swear by mullien tea or drops and black seed oil and lung wort.Would be nice to hear from anyone trying herbal remedies with success. I am aware there maybe interactions with medications with herbal remedies but would always seek medical advice before starting anything.

Look forward to hearing from anyone.

Hi Jake , I have tried quite a few of these herbal remedies and think most are OK for people without a lung condition. I did use lung work for a while after an infection and my daughter sent me some Ginseng Feng Weng Jiang which helped a little. I think they are OK for when the antibiotics and steroids have done their job and you are left recovering x

Thanks for your reply lzb. I also tried lung wort supplements but didn't notice any difference. I am trying Mullein drops at the moment but too early to say. I know that some herbal remedies work because I stopped smoking using Tabex a plant based remedy, this had scientific backing though. The NHS could do with prescribing this has it would save millions of pounds plus lives, but it's not available in the uk even though its been used for over 50 years in Europe. Anyway I will keep searching.

I tried Mullien tea but that didn't do anything for me, along with black seed oil, but keep trying you may find something out there . Good luck x

It would be so nice to find something herbal to help with breathing. I tried acupuncture and Chinese medicine a few years back, but neither helped and the 'tea' concoction they gave me was the foulest tasting stuff I've ever swallowed! I'll be interested to know if you find anything that works. Good luck xx

hi Jake. Not herbal remedies but I’m a great believer in reflexology and have been having it for over 20 years. I find it really relaxing and helps with my breathing, and the person who does it for me works on chest/sinus related areas as well as other parts. Obviously not for everyone but I’m a big fan of complementary therapies. And yes do let us know how you get on with the remedies.

Hi Jake. I have some mullien tea but haven’t tried it yet. I am taking tiger milk mushroom capsules for phlegm and it may be a co incidence but I’ve not any problem with my phlegm at the moment. I’ve stopped using the Carbocisteine as I found I got more phlegm to deal with x

Hi WatergazerThanks for your reply, I am currently taking mullein drops. I have COPD but with no cough I have noticed that the mullein does make me cough which I think is good as I do have some phlegm sometimes maybe the mullien is working to get the deep down phlegm moving. I haven't been taking it long so can't really say just yet. I'm interested in the tiger milk mushroom, thanks I will look into that.

Jane 😊

Hi! I tried mullein tea when I had a terrible cough - and I didn't notice much result. But then when I switched to tinctures and liquid mullein leaf in drops amazon.com/USDA-Organic-Mul..., and they are much more effective. I started coughing out mucus and it quickly helped me to recover. So tea may be not so effective because of the small dosage, it's better to try more concentrated forms of mullein.

Hi MesmerisaYes I'm trying the mullein drops and yes I am getting some phlegm up, at first I made the mistake of not putting it under my tongue so thought it wasn't working.

I'm still looking at other things for lung function.

Thanks for your reply 😊
